The concept for this home is based on two separate functional ‘houses’ over two levels for the retired clients, where the top level functions as a generous 1-bedroom house and the lower ‘house’ accommodates temporary guests.

The upper level enjoys expansive sea-views of Victoria’s famous surf-coast and towards the Rip, the most dominant of the three factors influencing the orientation of the indoor and outdoor living spaces being: view, sun & wind.

Other features include a raked ceiling in the lounge with clerestory windows catching reflected light off the roof to the North and a large sun deck over the garage linked with the dining areas but protected from the cold South-Westerly winter winds.
