Surrey Hills Home

Alterations to an existing period home, currently under construction.

Our clients came to us to revive their recently purchased house. Whilst providing sufficient accommodation, the bathroom and laundry was in disrepair and the house generally needed an update.

The key opportunity, however, was to reconnect the living spaces to backyard. The sloping site meant the only access was via a steep, narrow staircase off the rear deck.

Our proposal removed the floor structure of the exiting living spaces, and literally lowered them to natural ground level and ‘extending’ the house under its own roofline.

The result will be a beautiful lofty family and dining space, connected to the outdoors both physically and visually via full height glazing, and a modern kitchen and new laundry.

Our young, energetic clients will owner-build their home and are well into the construction phase, and we're all thrilled with the result thus far.
